Our Good Fortune

I know you're busy and like me you are probably more focused on keeping the lights on and your team busy most days than contemplating your broader role in the world.  But I'd like to encourage you to take a minute and remember that more people are lead, employed and therefore clothed and fed by small business owners collectively than any Fortune 1000 CEO.  I also know you're up for a challenge.  So my challenge to you is find 15 minutes to talk to your teams about what they can do to help the people of Haiti.

Here's what I did in email to my team:

"As a company we always strive to be engaged with our teammates, partners and clients to help solve their problems. But sometimes we are called to think beyond where we work and live and reach out to the broader global community. There are some events that just touch your heart.  Given the devastation in Haiti, our values of being accountable and engaged call us to action.

TGP will be making a contribution to Doctors Without Borders to help to in some small way help alleviate the suffering in Haiti.  Please join us and we will match any donation you wish to make.  In this case it is the action more than the thought that counts.  I’m sure any amount will be appreciated.

Thank you.
